Place the mole skin you just cut (your pattern) onto
another sheet of
moleskin. IMPORTANT: Make sure that you place the front of the mole
skin on top of the front of the mole skin sheet. The new sheet of mole
skin (smooth side, NOT the side with the tape) should be facing you and
your pattern’s side with the tape should be facing you. If you do the
opposite of what I just said, then you will be making a pattern for 2
right
ears, not a right and left ear. Now cut around your pattern.
Step 12
This is what it will look like when you get done.
Step 13
Remember the top part that you cut earlier? Take
another piece of mole
skin and use your pattern to make your cut. It doesn’t matter if you place
the side with the tape down or up.
Step 14
This is what you will end up once all of your cuts
have been made. Now
comes the fun part.
Step 15
Now take your bottom piece and peel the tape off of
the back of the
moleskin that fits inside the ear (tear the tape so that the long narrow
part still has it on it; you don’t want to get glue on that part of the
mole skin). Now that the tape is off, place the moleskin onto a paper
towel with the sticky side up.
Step 16
Now grab your 3M Super 77 can.
Step 17
Now spray a light layer of the glue onto the
moleskin. Let the glue stand
for about 45 seconds. Make sure to only Spray the part that will fit
inside
the dog’s ear (the oval).

Now that the glue has become tackier, you’re now
ready to place the
moleskin into the dog’s ear.
You can click the picture to see a larger version and
see how much glue to use.
Step 19

Before you place the moleskin into the dog’s ear,
make sure you get
out any excess hair. Remember that little bump? The moleskin should
sit nicely behind it. If you make a mistake and need to pull the moleskin
out, take it out and spray it again before putting it back into the ear.
Once you have the moleskin in place, firmly press it onto the ear for
approximately 15 seconds. Now you can remove the tape on the back
of the moleskin that is sitting on top of the head. Don’t worry about the
moleskin being sticky. It is not bad to work with or remove the hairs that
got stuck to it. It actually won’t be sticky by the time you finish taping
the
ears.
Step 20
Working with the 3M Super 77 gets pretty sticky. If
you’re anything like
me, you will get it on your fingertips. No big deal, just add a few drops
of Zo-Eze or Goo Gone onto your finger tips and rub them around. Once
your fingers stop being sticky, get a paper towel and dry off your
fingers.
Don’t worry about washing your hands, if you use a paper towel to get
them somewhat less oily, that’s sufficient.
